OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100

What does it mean and if you can, why should you choose this type of material for baby products?

The Rosalie & Donnell Voyager sports stroller is made of high-quality textile materials (OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100), which is good for your baby's skin, resistant to the hot sun (UPF 50+), and also water repellent.

About the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 trademark:

The OEKO-TEX® trademark indicates to end users that the product does not contain harmful substances and is therefore safe and skin-friendly, so the trademark can be an important decision-making tool when purchasing baby products.

Over the past two decades, the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 distinctive mark has become the world's best-known environmental protection certification mark for textile products, whose high market value provides a competitive advantage.

How can you think that the product you are using may contain harmful substances?

If rashes and redness develop on the baby's skin, or if your baby is often restless, perhaps cries a lot, or has red skin on some parts of the body, then this should definitely be considered as a possibility.

We ourselves, the distributors, know this, which is why we consciously strive to ensure that our products have this certificate. The OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certificate is a prestigious certificate. It is carried out uniformly worldwide by independent OEKO-TEX® institutes and examines every processing step for applicable textile products, from the yarn to the final product. This certificate represents a high degree of credibility and, as usual, is not easy to obtain.

Therefore, if you see this certificate on a product, you can be sure that the product:

  • does not contain, for example, prohibited dyes, formaldehydes, and is also tested for nickel and other harmful substances,
  • tested for chemicals harmful to health even if they are not regulated by law. That is, stricter than the legal regulation,
  • XVII of the REACH Directive is examined. and XIV. also according to the requirements of the ECHA-SVHC candidate list. This is also a serious and strict set of criteria that must be met.

The OEKO-TEX® laboratory tests contain approximately 100 test parameters and take into account the intended use of the textiles. The more intensive the contact of a textile product with the skin, the stricter the limit values of each product class. It is strictest for items intended for babies and toddlers.
